MYTH 1.No one can ever quit smoking or chewing tobacco

FACT: “Your life is in your hands, to make of it what you choose.”

Against all odds too, one can quit tobacco with the right attitude, motivation and a little bit of support.

 

MYTH 2. Hookas are better than cigarettes

FACT: Usually considered a more “Safe” and socially acceptable option, #Hookas or #shishas are scientifically proven to be worse than even cigarettes. There is more tar, arsenic, nickel in hooka smoke which is also carcinogenic. They are addictive.

 

MYTH 3. Consuming tobacco is better than being addicted to alcohol

FACT: No addiction in the world is better than the other. Both cause physical and mental problems.

 

MYTH 4. Only regular smokers have higher chances of cancer and other diseases

FACT: Evidence begs to differ by showing that even “light” or “social” smoking significantly increases the chances of all kinds of cancer.

 

MYTH 5.Smoking & tobacco chewing only causes physical side-effects

FACT: Mental effects of tobacco are often ignored or missed out upon. Some of the symptoms of Nicotine withdrawal are:

  • Anxiety
  • Cravings
  • Depression
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Impaired performance
  • Increased appetite and weight gain
  • Irritability, frustration and anger
  • Restlessness and impatience
